Nexus 7 tablet gets Android 4.1.1 update with Google Wallet and performance enhancements



Those of you that have the Google I/O edition of the Nexus 7 tablet are getting an update to Android 4.1.1. This is the update that hit AOSP servers the other day. According to Google, it “improves performance and responsiveness system wide.

HTC barks about new “dog translator” app


Have a dog and ever uttered the words, “what are you barking at?” HTC may be coming to your rescue. Yesterday HTC posted a photo on their Facebook page showing a “dog translator” app that will let you figure out just what your dog is trying to tell you.

It’s Collectibles Week In The Play Store – Get Your Limited Edition In-Game Content Now


For one week, Google is promoting Collectibles Week, an initiative to drive in-game sales for over 20 games in the Play Store. Using the psychological and persuasive technique known as scarcity, Google hopes to get gamers to buy or unlock limited edition items within these games.

Developers Get A Voice In The Play Store


Google is finally giving developers a way to respond to app reviews in the Play Store. This is a great addition since it gives developers a way to defend their apps against unfair reviews, and for improving customer/dev interaction and communication.

HTC Droid Incredible 2 Update Approved By Verizon, Fixes Image Download Bug And Enables Wireless Alerting System


The DROID Incredible 2 is getting an update to software version 6.01.605.05 710RD (no, it’s not Ice Cream Sandwich yet). This 32MB update fixes a social network image download bug some folks were having, and also enables the device’s Wireless Alerting System. Verizon just approved this update so it should be coming very soon. Watch for it!
