The successor to last years Pantech Breakout, the Pantech Star Q, will be coming to Verizon’s 4G LTE network soon for a low price of $99 on contract.
The device will have Android 4.0.4, a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4? WVGA (800 x 480) display, a 3MP rear camera, a front-facing camera, a 5-row QWERTY keyboard and Bluetooth 4.0. It’s cool too see that the device will have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the Snapdragon S4 processor, but the display and camera resolution is pretty disappointing. Obviously this isn’t a high end device like the Galaxy S III, but I at least expected a decent camera since 8MP has been the standard for most devices lately.
It hasn’t been said when the device will hit stores but with Verizon’s current low-end slider phones, the LG Enlighten and Samsung Stratosphere, the Pantech Star Q will make a nice addition to the lineup and should show up soon. The device definitely won’t attract hardcore fans, but it should attract a decent amount of people with it’s low $99 price point.
Does the Pantech Star Q interest you at all? For $99 I would personally rather go with the HTC One X or Atrix HD. Let us know in the comments below!
